It has some of the most unique gift shops, local art galleries and best restaurants offering the freshest seafood in the area, all right on, or overlooking the tropical waters of Matlacha Pass.

Fishing Charters Inc offer inshore saltwater fishing, Eco Nature Tours and Dolphin and Manatee Tours in the Cape Coral / Ft. Myers area of SW Florida. All boats meet US Coast Guard standards and all Captains are insured, licensed professionals. For inshore saltwater fishing, the Florida Fishing License is furnished by your captain. Rods, reels, tackle, bottled water and in most cases bait is included at no extra charge.

Eco Nature Tours navigate through Matlacha Pass and around the surrounding mangrove islands. You will see Osprey, Egrets, Pelicans, Frigate birds, Bald Eagles and other tropical birds and wildlife. Dolphin/ Manatee Tours include narration while cruising the tropical waters of Matlacha Pass. Nature Tours and Island Trips include trips shelling on Cayo Costa and lunch at Cabbage Key Inn. All tours are narrated and include the history of Matlacha, Pine Island, Cayo Costa, Cabbage Key Inn and the Calusa Indians. Tours are aboard the comfortable, spacious Miss Matti, a 24 foot Tri-Toon, United States Coast Guard inspected for 8 passengers.

Kayak ExcursionsKAYAK EXCURSIONS are a full service Kayak and SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) company offering a FREE delivery service. Kayaks are available at any location throughout Lee County, as well as at their Fort Myers (Bunch Beach) location, offering the opportunity to go paddling directly from your rental house or any other location of your choice. If you are unfamiliar with the area or simply would like some suggestions of great places to go they can help.

Renting a Kayak is an economical and fun way for anyone to get out and about on the water. Regardless of whether you want to explore the local mangroves, paddle down the river or play in the waves of the Gulf, Kayak Excursions will set you up with the appropriate Kayak to suit your needs. They offer single, tandem (two person), fishing, and children's kayaks, all of which are extremely stable, maneuverable, and unsinkable. Also available for rent are motorized kayaks.

Discover Pine Island

Pine Island is the largest island (17 miles long and 2 miles wide) on the west coast of Florida, just 15-20 minutes from Cape Coral, 30 minutes from Ft. Myers.

Fringed with mangroves rather than white sand beaches, Pine Island has escaped the concrete, blacktop and skyscrapers found in the more touristy, beachy communities and still preserves it’s unique, rural island heritage.

Welcome to our island. One hundred acres of tropical vegetation surround our historic restaurant, inn and cottages. A panoramic view of Pine Island Sound is provided from the front porch of our open-air restaurant situated atop a thirty-eight foot Indian shell mound. There are no cars here, not even a paved road. You will find winding nature trails, picturesque views and relaxation.

Just past the Island Time Zone road sign, the tiny town of Matlacha (MAT-luh-shay) an island west of Fort Myers welcomes visitors with art galleries and shops. Kayakers come here to paddle placid backwaters, but the Island still retains the charm of a quiet fishing village.

Most people flock to Cabbage Key, a 100-acre refuge off of Pine Island Sound, to have drinks or lunch at the Cabbage Key Inn, a converted 1928 house set atop an ancient Calusa shell mound. Over the years, patrons have plastered the bar and restaurant with thousands of dollar bills, and locals like to claim that longtime regular Jimmy Buffett was inspired to write his song, "Cheeseburger in Paradise" here.

Sanibel IslandSanibel Island

Sanibel Island is home to the world famous J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge that encompasses a large portion of the island. If you seek shells, you've got to go to Sanibel, known as the shelling capital of the world. With miles of meandering bike paths and sugary white sand beaches you can choose between a multitude of outdoor pleasures to fill those hot sunny days, boating, kayaking, canoeing, water-skiing or fishing.
